A Life of Its Own

The move to establish a veterinary college in Tennessee really did have a life of its own. As early as 1967, interest was developing, although not yet developed within the university.

Bailey discussed potential future collaborations with university leadership, as well as faculty and leadership from the colleges of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development (CAFSD). The Evolution of Teaching the Teachers

The creed of the Volunteer is “One that beareth a torch shadoweth oneself to give light to others.”

The Difference Orange Makes

In the beginning, the focus of outreach for the college centered around developing a strong stakeholder base.

In 1997, eight high school veterinary interns spent one week of the eight-week session at UTCVM working.

Opening Doors

A UT College of Veterinary Medicine program that began in 1993 to provide opportunities to high school students to learn about veterinary medicine is now in its 31st year.

For 2023, UTIA is presenting its Meritorious Service Award to Dr. Robert Barry (Bob) Coley, a veterinarian and beef cattle producer from New Market, Tennessee.
